October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women. Breast cancer is still a serious problem, but early detection is helping more women win the battle every year. You probably have a friend, a neighbor, a sister or a parent who has battled or is battling breast cancer. So make sure you are getting your mammograms when you’re supposed to. Here are a few more ways to lower your risk for breast cancer:
